Multidisciplinary designer Javier Mariscal (born in Valencia in 1950) is a household name in Spain. Based in Barcelona as principal of Estudio Mariscal, his imagination and unique style comes to life in comics, illustrations, graphic, industrial and textile design, painting, sculpture, multimedia, animation and interior design.

Mariscal's prolific career has included graphic identities for the Barcelona Zoo, the Madrid 2012 Olympic bid and the America's Cup, the design of the Acuarinto interactive playground in Nagasaki's theme park, the interior design of Lighthouse — Scotland's Centre for Architecture and Italy's Gran Hotel Rimini, and several large-scale artistic exhibitions including "Mariscal Últimas Cosas" (Bilbao, 2004). One of his most famous creations was "Cobi"— the mascot for the Barcelona 1992 Summer Games. He was also selected to create the mascot "Twipsy" for Expo 2000 in Hanover, and judged the mascot competition for the Torino 2006 Winter Games.
